The grand opening ceremony will start at 7:30 PM and will unfold along the six kilometers separating the Austerlitz Bridge and the Jena Bridge, right between the Trocadero Gardens and the Eiffel Tower.

The Greek delegation will lead the parade at a precise pace of 9 kilometers per hour, completing the route in 42 minutes. Around 90 vessels will transport 8,500 athletes. However, the number of boats will not exactly match the number of participating nations (206), and many countries will have to share decks.

About 45,000 agents and 10,000 military personnel will accompany the inauguration to prevent any issues. For 3 hours and 45 minutes, athletes and 326,000 in-person spectators, including 200 heads of state and government, will witness a show whose full details have not yet been revealed.

The text reads, “China chose a design inspired by the Palestinian flag for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”

The opening ceremony will be a celebration of French culture, which will be depicted through twelve scenes along the river, accompanied by a grand spectacle of lights and pyrotechnics. One of these moments will take place near the Notre-Dame Cathedral, and another will be at the Louvre, probably featuring La Gioconda as the protagonist.

Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the opening ceremony, revealed another detail: love, as befits Paris, will be part of the show, with a red heart in the sky pierced by an aerial patrol like an arrow. A hot air balloon has also been spotted in the Tuileries Garden

The presence of Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, and other stars in Paris has sparked speculation about who will perform musical numbers on the Seine and at Trocadero.

Some of the traditional moments of any Olympic opening ceremony are expected to take place at the Trocadero Plaza, such as the Athletes’ Oath, the speech by International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach, and the official opening declaration by French President Emmanuel Macron.
